Much thanks to our Wonderful Friends

In the midst of all the sadness, Alex and I found out just how wonderful our friends are. We had tons of people to offer to help with the kids and we appreciate them all. However, we want to specifically thank Erik and Katrina, Kelly and Kevin and Tiffany who spent the entire week taking turns picking them up from bible camp, feeding them, bathing them and getting them to bed for us. Just knowing that we had reliable people caring for our children when we couldn't be here to do it ourselves was a incredible feeling. They will never know how much we appreciate them and will never forget their kindness!! We love you guys!

We will miss you Gee

As most of you know, Alex's Gee lost her battle with cancer on July 16th. She fought hard, but her body just couldn't take it anymore and now she has gone on to be with God in heaven. We are sad that she is not physically here anymore, but knowing that she is no longer sick or hurting brings a smile to our faces. She will definitely be missed here on earth but we will all see her again one day when we leave this earth and meet our maker. We ask that you guys please continue to pray for our family and extended family as we all adjust to life without our Gee.

Maddie's 3rd Birthday Party

Maddie's 3rd Birthday Party was a big hit! She had so much fun! She had a few friends over and then mostly family. We had pizza and Gigi cupcakes and then hit on the pinata. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and we appreciate all that came.

Maddie is 3!!!

Today, Maddie turned 3 years old!!! I can't believe that she is growing up so fast. She is almost as big as Ashton as you can tell from the picture above. Can you believe they actually hugged on each other for a picture?!? LOL

Here is Maddie opening up some presents from us. She was pretty excited about her "make up". Daddy had some rules to go with it, but nothing we can't handle.
Maddie's BIG surprise was a pink bike just like she wanted. She was super excited. It has a little basket on the front, a bell and streamers. She was a little apprehensive about it at first, but now she is just riding around like it is no big deal. Ashton, on the other hand, can't wait for Maddie to get off so they can trade and he can ride her new bike. LOL
It is so sweet watching them play nicely together! I can't believe BOTH of my babies are old enough for bikes.
Maddie couldn't wait for us to have dinner tonight so that she could have her "princess" cake. She was so sweet and excited!
Happy Birthday Maddie!!

Happy Fourth of July

The Perry's had a pretty low key 4th of July. We spent the day enjoying some much needed family time. Alex started my day off letting me sleep in. It was so nice. I've not slept in that late in a long time and I can't thank him enough for that special little surprise!!
Last night, we cooked out, went and got fireworks and stopped for ice cream. Afterwards, we shot a few fireworks at home. It was nothing spectatuclar, but the kids had a great time and said this morning they liked "fireworking" last night.

Ashton and Maddie both liked holding their sparklers. They even took them and ran around the cul-de-sac watching the smoke trail behind them. LOL

Here is Ashton holidng a firework and Maddie peaking out from behind the mailbox to see what he has. It was cute!

Big Time Bubble Bath

Ashton and Maddie had a big day today. They started the morning out with their last swim lesson, then we headed to Papa Monkey's house and spent mos to the day, and lastly hung out at home and went for ice cream. After all that, we decided to end the night with a BIG BUBBLE BATH!!!

As you can see, they had a little bit of fun acting silly!!! I just thought I'd share in some of our silly times! LOL

Happy Anniversary Gee & Geega

June 28th, the Kirby family got together to celebrate with Gee and Geega for their 52nd wedding anniversary. I just thought I'd share this sweet picture of them kissing. It was such a sweet little moment, but we all got to witness it. I hope that when Alex and I have been married that long, we still love each other half as much as they do!! They are a great example to us all! We love you Gee and Geega!
